    • Other Information: There is a letter glued underneath this piano that the Chickering company wrote in 1937 saying that it was shipped from the factory in Boston to the New York warehouse on December 28, 1871  The original owners had it transported  by rail from New York in early 1872.  It went by rail as far as the line went, and then continued by wagon on the Oregon Trail to Oregon City, Oregon.
