  • Other Information: Capt. Joseph Lewis was from Boston. His daughter was married to Charles F. Herreshoff and they settled in Bristol,RI. A portrait of Capt. Lewis hangs in the Herreshoff family home (built in 1800). This home was bequeathed to the Herreshoff Marine Museum by Norman F. Herreshoff when he died in the summer of 1990. The Chickering piano is still in this home.
